- Form: Evergreen shrub or multi-trunked small tree reaching 20 ft. or more
- Leaves: Simple, opposite, entire, fragrant; dark glossy green with reddish new foliage
- Stem/Bark: Attractive, exfoliating to reveal various colors
- Flower: White, multi-staminate, fragrant
- Fruit: Red or orange, showy
- Comments: Several dwarf cultivars are available in the trade
