- Family: Myricaceae
- Form: Multi-stemmed, evergreen shrub or small tree, reaching 5-20 ft.
- Leaves: Simple, alternate, serrate along apex, aromatic
- Stem/Bark: Multiple, suckering, grayish, smooth
- Flower: Brownish, small axillary catkins, inconspicuous
- Fruit: Drupe, appearing in dense clusters along stems, grayish-blue, small and waxy
- Comments: A dwarf form is available in the trade. Formerly called Myrica cerifera.
