Wild Lantana

  • Family: Verbenaceae
  • Form: Upright, woody shrub, reaching 5 ft.
  • Leaves: Simple, opposite, crenate, aromatic
  • Stem/Bark: Brown
  • Flower: Whitish with yellow throat, borne in clusters
  • Fruit: Drupe, magenta, in clusters
  • Comments: A related native species, Lantana depressa, is also excellent for the landscape, but is lower growing with yellow flowers
