- Fruit: Capsule, mostly 2-winged, in clusters, yellow-green turning pinkish
- Comments: One of two Dodonaea species native to Florida, having wider distribution, larger leaves and mostly 2-winged rather than 3-winged fruit as with D. elaeagnoides
