  • Leaves: Simple, alternate, entire, elliptic to spatulate, shiny
  • Stem/Bark: Brown
  • Flower: Yellow, inconspicuous
  • Fruit: Capsule, mostly 2-winged, in clusters, yellow-green turning pinkish
  • Comments: One of two Dodonaea species native to Florida, having wider distribution, larger leaves and mostly 2-winged rather than 3-winged fruit as with D. elaeagnoides
