  • Leaves: Single, opposite, often with grey pubescence
  • Stem/Bark: Grey-brown
  • Flower: Solitary, yellow disk surrounded by yellow ray flowers
  • Fruit: Achene
  • Comments: The very similar B. arborescens has light green leaves and is primarily found in the very southern tip of Florida
