Annona glabra
Pond Apple
- Family: Annonaceae
- Form: Semi-deciduous, single-stem, tree to 35 ft. tall
- Leaves: Simple, alternate, deciduous, and coriacious, entire, ovate to elliptic, involute, prominent midrib
- Stem/Bark: Grey to brown, becoming rougher with age
- Flower: Bisexual, large, 6 petals, white with red near the center of the three outer petals
- Fruit: Yellowish green, firm pome the size of an apple but oblong in shape
- Comments: Annona glabra shares the same family (Annonaceae) as the native pawpaws (Asimina spp.)
