Leaves: Simple, alternate, glabrous, deeply toothed near apex

Stem/Bark: Grey to brown, becoming rougher with age.

Flower: Small white flowers in clusters, dioecious

Fruit: Achene with white prominent scales

Comments: Related to Baccharis angustifolia (also native to Florida) but distinguished by wider leaves.
