Form: Evergreen shrub reaching 16 ft with crooked branches

Leaves: Simple, alternate, pubescent, obovate, grayish-green, clustering at tips of branches

Stem/Bark: Reddish to gray

Flower: Yellow, small 5-petaled, tend to blend in with the foliage

Fruit: Inconspicuous, persistant, brown and hard

Comments: A drought and salt tolerant native of Florida
