Form: Evergreen tree reaching 30ft, width approaches height with an irregular canopy
Leaves: Alternate, simple, oval to elliptical, ¾” to 1 ¼” with crenate margin
Stem/Bark: Light grey and smooth
Flower: Small white, dioecious in axillary cymes, 3/16”, not showy with 4 rounded petals
Fruit: Plentiful, shiny red berries containing 4 seeds on female plants. ¼” round in axillary clusters
Comments: One of 12 native hollies in Florida. There are numerous cultivars available ranging in form and size. Dwarf cultivars are male and do not produce fruit
