  • Form: Single- or multiple-stemmed shrub reaching 12 ft. tall
  • Leaves: Simple, alternate, glabrous, deeply toothed near apex
  • Stem/Bark: Grey to brown, becoming rougher with age
  • Flower: Small white flowers in clusters, dioecious
  • Fruit: Achene with white prominent scales
  • Comments: Related to Baccharis angustifolia (also native to Florida) but distinguished by wider leaves
