Student 8:

  1. Ag-lands provide important hydrological and water quality functions in integrated landscape-urban, ag, and natural areas.
  2. Reduce nutrient loads from agricultural areas to downstream receiving water and marshes.
  3. Reduce negative impacts of ag pesticides released to the environment.

"(Objective 1)......is an attempt to develop a partnership to complement different systems to an ultimate goal.  Negative effects of the hydrological impacts have been widespread in this area with the best example being the Florida Everglades which suffers from either increased or decreased water flows, the improper timing of these water levels and poor water quality. Not only providing a necessary best management practice to our landscape, objective #2 also creates a dialogue of unity amongst the community."
